About The Attraction

Upper Galilee, Israel

2

Take a two-day trip along the wine route in the Upper Galilee and Golan Heights

In 1976, the first vineyards were planted at Geshur and Yonatan in the Golan Heights. This was the beginning of the "Golan Heights Winery" revolution of wine culture in Israel. Since then, the wine growing industry in the area has become an impressive success story. Many wineries and extensive vineyards now cover the agricultural areas of the Golan.

Our tour will leave Tel Aviv at 8 a.m. and drive towards the Upper Galilee for a fascinating wine tour. At each winery, we will visit the welcome center and hear about the wine production, followed by a tasting of their wines.

First stop: Adir Winery

Adir Winery is In the heart of the Upper Galilee, on the slopes of Mount Admon. Adir Winery produces quality wines that reflect the optimal conditions in which their grapes were grown and harvested.

Second stop: Ben Zimra Winery

Ben Zimra Winery is located in the heart of Moshav Kerem Ben-Zimra, which is located at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level. Ben Zimra is surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and flourishing agriculture. The winery was established in 2003 and has since become a household name in Israel and around the world.

Third stop: a meeting with farmers and volunteers of the Hashomer Hahadash organization

Hashomer Hahadash is a social, educational, and Zionist organization established in 2007 by a group of volunteers working to preserve the state's lands while assisting and empowering farmers and law enforcement agencies.

They seek to connect citizens and young people to the land and to its Zionist identity.

Fourth stop: Kfar Blum

Here we will enjoy quality time in nature as we stop for the night. Our tents are luxurious. Each tent is for a couple.

Fifth stop: Lantern trip

A magical path through the middle of an impressive oak forest leads us to a unique natural phenomenon called the Great Juba. The Juba (Arabic-Bor) is a volcanic crater full of vegetation and various animals that are native to this place. On the tour we will walk around the Juba (diameter 250 m).

A magical trip full of surprises in the night.

Sixth stop:  Mount Bentel

After breakfast we will set off toward the Golan Heights. The access road to the mountain climbs slightly south of Kibbutz Merom Golan. Mount Bentel is 1,164 meters above sea level. It was formed from an explosion in a conical volcanic structure. On the top of the mountain there is an stunning overlook, a cafe ("Kofi Anan") and the visitor center of the Golan Regional Council. Here we will discuss the battles that took place at the site during the Yom Kippur War.

Seventh station: Golan Heights Winery

The Golan Heights Winery is the first to be established in the Golan Heights.  It was founded in 1983 by 8 kibbutzim and moshavim. From its establishment until today, the winery continues to make its mark in the Israeli wine world. The winery has four series - Mount Hermon, Golan, Gamla, and Yarden. At the visitor center we will enjoy a dairy lunch with the best wines of the winery.

We will end our trip here.
